“Bizarre Boutique Hotel” Corten Steel – Varna

“Bizarre Boutique Hotel” is located in Varna city.

During the annual competition “ARCHINOVA ARCHITECTURE AWARDS” 2024, in the category: Realizations – restoration, conservation, reconstruction of old buildings and cultural monuments – the building was awarded first prize!

It was a great pleasure for us to have the opportunity to make our contribution to the cultural heritage of the city of Varna by providing Corten steel panels, based on the idea of ​​arch. Bachev from studio “ARCHIS”. In close cooperation with his team, AKSAL EOOD developed perforated Corten panels and a suspension system for the project, which is functionally durable, according to the statics of the facade. The panels are additionally chemically treated, which accelerated the corrosion process and limited the unplanned impact on the stone. The perforation provides lightness to the double facade and, through the specific transmission of light into the rooms, creates that characteristic coziness in the interior, which is inherent in the concept of an art hotel. We are grateful that with the implementation of this project we received yet another proof of how important the individual approach is in the selection of materials, in relation to each specific architectural design, which is the basis of the company policy of AKSAL EOOD.
